Brilliant Productivity Hack From Outlander

Last week I read Diana Gabaldon’s Outlandish Companion Volume 2 (nerd alert!) and the author shared her secret for getting unstuck on creative projects.

The secret wasn’t meditation, yoga, handstands, or CBD gummies like I had expected. Gabaldon toggles her writing projects. She keeps four or five different projects open in her browser and when she gets stuck on one, she’ll jump to another, giving her brain space to get unstuck from the first one without losing productivity time.

This beats my general standby of killing time on social media until inspiration strikes again. What do you think about toggling creative projects? Is this something you could implement?  This strategy keeps me moving and, in fact, I’m doing it now with this blog post!

When we shared this trick with our clients, we received some funny comments like “um, no, I’m not doing that.” Hey, I can respect that.

What’s your favorite productivity hack that some people may think is crazy? Leave us a comment and let us know!
